NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Airline stocks struggled to stay aloft Wednesday as the wider market edged higher. The NYSE Arca Airline Index added less than 1% to 40.21 points with just over half of its 13 components in the black. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index also rose less than 1%.
