Bulls come out of hibernation thanks to merger activity and earnings news. The Dow ( ^DJI ) gained 103.84 points to close at 10,405.85. The S&P 500 ( SPX ) tacked on 1,092.54 with the Nasdaq ( COMP ) adding 27.57 points to 2,209.44.
